12 MONTHS TO MOMENTUM
One of the biggest mistakes I see in real estate training is treating everyone the same, with the same scripts, same expectations and same approach.
People don’t learn the same way, and they definitely don’t build confidence the same way.
That’s part of the thinking behind our “12 Months to Momentum” plan for new agents.
The goal isn’t just to throw someone into the industry and hope they survive. It’s to help them build the right routines, skills, and habits steadily over time.
Some people need a lot of 1:1 coaching early on.
Others are naturally confident and just need occasional guidance and accountability.
Part of leadership, in my view, is understanding what makes people tick.
Sometimes supporting someone means sitting alongside them regularly and helping them through every stage. Other times it means backing off and letting them run, while still making sure they’re reaching their potential.
That flexibility matters.
Real estate is one of those industries where it can look easy from the outside, but there are a huge number of moving parts behind the scenes.
You’ve got communication skills, negotiation, buyer management, listing presentations, marketing, technology, compliance, relationship management and everything in between.
It’s a lot for someone new to absorb. That’s why I think structured support matters more than pressure.
Confidence usually comes from competence and competence comes from repetition, guidance, and having the right people around you.
One of the things I enjoy most about leadership is seeing someone grow into the role over time.
Watching someone go from nervous conversations and uncertainty to confidently handling clients and building momentum in their business is hugely rewarding.
Not everyone develops at the same speed and that’s okay.
The important thing is creating an environment where people feel supported enough to keep improving.
That’s when sustainable careers start getting built.
